A forgotten church standing quietly against time.
Still water before the world wakes.
A stretch of road that somehow feels like home.
I don't chase perfection.
I chase presence.
I don't want to emulate anyone.
I simply want to be faithful to what God showed me.
My name is Kyle Rome, though you'll often see my work signed simply K. Rome. That signature isn't just a name. It is a promise to remain true to the moments that stopped me in my tracks and deserved to be remembered.
I didn't go to art school.
I went through life.
From kitchens to quiet water, from running restaurants to rebuilding my own life, photography found me when I needed it most. It taught me to slow down, pay attention, and recognize beauty that had been there all along.
Today, I spend countless mornings waiting, not forcing the moment, but allowing it to reveal itself. I've learned that the finest photographs aren't manufactured.
They're witnessed.
I don't photograph simply to create beautiful images.
I hope my work invites people to slow down long enough to remember something they thought they'd forgotten, a place that once felt like home, the peace found in stillness, or the quiet wonder that has been there all along.
Louisiana will always be where my roots run deepest. Its landscapes, culture, and quiet beauty shaped the way I see the world. But my journey is no longer confined by state lines. As I travel, my purpose remains the same: to faithfully preserve the beauty, history, and wonder that God places before me, wherever the road may lead.
Every photograph is an invitation to pause... to breathe... and to notice something that might otherwise have been forgotten.
Photography has given me far more than beautiful places to visit. It has reminded me that we are called to be good stewards of what we've been given. Through my artwork, books, and charitable efforts, I hope to give something back to the landscapes, communities, and people that continue to inspire me. If these places have given me so much, I believe it's my responsibility to help preserve them for generations to come.
I believe every photograph is a gift, not because I created it, but because I was fortunate enough to be there when it happened.
